The run/walk will start in the Poplar Square Shopping Center’s Parking Lot at 5886 Wendy Bagwell Parkway, Hiram, Georgia.  The run/walk will continue to include the Silver Comet Trail and will be an event for all ages and abilities.

 

The event will include refreshments, music and a health and business fair for the entire family.

The Cornerstone Community Challenge is a 5K run/walk benefiting Shepherd’s Rest Ministries Women’s Shelter. Shepherd's Rest Ministries, Inc. is a family violence crisis center providing shelter and services to women and children who have been, or are at risk of being displaced from their homes due to family violence.

 

Shepherd's Rest was established in June of 1997 and has obtained full 501©3 tax-exempt status. Shepherd's Rest offers victims a 24-hour crisis line where clients can receive domestic violence counsel, direction, and resource referrals.

 

Services include 24-hour emergency shelter, emergency transportation, food, clothing, resource referrals, in-house activities, and Legal Advocacy.

 

Shepherd's Rest also works to provide domestic violence community awareness, education, and training.
